ICMC 2026: Speaker Spotlight – Leslie O’Connor, MPA, PMP, CISSP

On day-three of the 11th Annual International Crisis Management Conference, Leslie O’Connor, MPA, PMP, CISSP, Senior Director, Crisis Management and Response at Labcorp, will present: Visualizing Resilience: Mapping Third-Party Risks for a Common Response.

Many organizations rely on Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) as foundational tools for preparedness. While these documents often meet compliance requirements, they don’t always hold up under real-world crisis conditions.

In her session, Leslie O’Connor will explore what happens when those plans are tested and where they fall short. By shifting from static documentation to visual process mapping, organizations can better understand dependencies, identify single points of failure, and uncover hidden risks, particularly those tied to third-party reliance.

This approach challenges teams to think differently about resilience by asking critical questions: What happens when a key vendor, system, or location is removed? And what is required to maintain operations when those gaps appear?

Attendees will gain practical insight into:

  • How to move beyond traditional BIA and BCP documents to identify real operational risk
  • How to use visual mapping to uncover single points of failure and hidden dependencies
  • How to evaluate and plan for gaps created by the loss of vendors, processes, technologies, or locations

The goal is not simply to maintain compliance, but to build a clearer, more realistic understanding of how systems function under stress and how to adapt when they don’t.

In this short video, Leslie discusses her background in crisis management, and what else will be discussed in her presentation.
