Deborah Hileman, President/ CEO of the Institute for Crisis Management, gave a compelling presentation at the 3rd annual International Crisis Management Conference.
During her presentation, “#MeToo and Other Smoldering Crises: How Bad Behavior Impacts Companies,” she focused on man-made crises within organizations. She explained that most crises have to do with things like discrimination, labor disputes, mismanagement, sexual harassment and more.
Ms. Hileman also discussed statistics from the ICM 2017 Annual Crisis Report.
“We found again that the vast majority of crises are not those sudden kinds of disasters and emergencies but they’re smoldering issues that have been left unchecked by management until they erupt into full blown crises.”
