Newport, Rhode Island, February 17, 2022 –  The International Crisis Management Conference (ICMC), the Center of Excellence for Crisis Management Professionals, today announced its 7th Annual Conference, to be held in-person June 7-8, 2022 in Newport, RI.

The Conference is ICMC’s premier event, where distinguished experts and professional attendees of all levels come together to learn, network and share ideas. The conference showcases best practices in crisis management and how today’s methods and newest technologies are steering the future of the profession.

Featured speakers on day 1 include top crisis leaders from diverse business sectors, including big tech (Dell Technologies, Amazon, Meta), finance (Commonwealth), food (Cargill, Nestle Purina), pharma (Takeda) and security (OnSolve). Also speaking will be the 2021 Winner of the Global BCI Continuity & Resilience Consultant Award as well as the 2022 Disaster Recovery Institute International, Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

Day 2 will feature training courses in Principles of Crisis Management or Principles of Effective Cyber Response, with both trainings emphasizing the importance of crisis exercises to test and improve crisis plans and team actions.

“Crisis professionals are experiencing a growing frequency of incoming threats — COVID-related crises, increased political upheaval, workplace violence and cyberattacks,” said Rob Burton, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ICMC. “ICMC’s conference provides crisis professionals with the cutting-edge tools they need to be better able to identify and respond effectively to potential and full-blown crises.”

Conference presenter Matt Bradley, VP of Global Security Solutions for Critical Event Management leader OnSolve, a platinum sponsor of the event, said, “The volume of physical threats in the last few years continues to put workers, communities, critical infrastructure and the operations that power the economy in jeopardy. As businesses prioritize organizational resilience, one area ICMC will explore is the increasingly important role of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in crisis management. I am looking forward to discussing how AI-powered critical event management is improving their ability to manage these crises.”
